Amit Sengupta

Amit Sengupta is a UK Civil Services Awardee for Crisis Communications in 2025. He is a senior communications leader with two decades of experience in media, international development sector and diplomacy. He has advised senior leadership for impactful communications. Amit has worked on high profile diplomatic events such as the UK PM’s visit to Mumbai in October 2025.

As part of his Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Amit has played a key role in organising the first ever Monsoon Charity Fair, an initiative of British Deputy High Commission Kolkata in inviting 10 different social sector organisations from Kolkata to create awareness about their work and provided them a fundraising platform to sell their self-made items.

Amit has worked in international Non Profit Organisation (NPOs)  – Oxfam, Water Aid, CLTS Foundation – gaining expertise in programme, operations, fundraising and communications of the non for profit sector. He has expertise in grant management, running due diligence, programme budget tracking, programme monitoring and reporting; filing reports for internal and external audiences and annual reports.

He has a depth of knowledge and expertise on disability sports. He has worked on increasing visibility for the Street Child Cricket World Cup. He has been advocating and championing the cause of disability in cricket by creating partnerships with organisations such as Skal International Kolkata. Amit has organised a one-of-its-kind cricket match with the differently abled cricket team of West Bengal to celebrate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities in 2025. He also conceptualised and organised the East Zone Tournament for Differently Abled cricketers in December 2025 in Kolkata.

The Indian Deaf Cricket Association (IDCA) has conferred upon Amit the title of Honorary Brand Ambassador of Deaf Cricket in West Bengal.

Amit is an alumnus of Kings College London (International Political Economy) and is a post graduate (MA) in Journalism and Mass Communications from University of Calcutta with double specialisations in Current International Affairs and Media and Environment. He sits on the Board of Skal International Kolkata and a member of Indo-British Scholars’ Association and Public Relations Society of India (Kolkata).
